NAME
ami - amiga mail interface
SYNOPSIS
ami [receiver [subject [carbon-copies]]]
DESCRIPTION
AMI is an interactive program for composing, sending and
receiving electronic messages. AMI uses standard system
editor to write and edit messages. Messages are be held in
system mailbox for future use.
Incoming mail is stored in the system mailbox for each user.
This file is named after the user (depending of the
configuration, usually AXsh:spool/mail/$USER). Actual mail
file is always kept there but mail uses user's home
directory to save temp files while sending new mail.
Un*X-style environment system in not implemented yet.
The following command line keywords are implemented:
?, help Gives a short internal manual page.
d, delete Delete marked message(s). Be carefull
with this, there's no way to get deleted
messages back.
g, give, <RETURN> Give the marked message(s) (read). Messages
can also be read by moving the cursor
to in front of the wanted message and by
pressing RETURN key.
h, headers Update message header list. Not very
usefull command in AMI, because the
header screen is updated automaticly
whenever it's needed. Can be used if
used data connection is bad.
m, mail <user> Send mail to specific user.
q, quit Quit, save all (active) messages in .mbox.
r, reply Reply to marked senders (only).
R, ccreply Reply to marked senders and all recipients.
r!, reply! Same as <reply>, but quote original message.
R!, ccreply! Same as <ccreply>, but quote original message.
s, save <file> Append marked message(s) to <file>.
x, exit Quit, do not change system mailbox.
